“Oh Miami, Miami.”
Miami is beautiful, but it is also intense.
This trip happened before anxiety became part of my life. Back then travelling felt light and easy. I was travelling solo 🧳, something I secretly enjoyed. It was an escape from a busy life, and Miami was exactly what I needed at that time.
I stayed in Miami Beach, just a few steps from the beach and Ocean Drive. Every morning the ocean was there, bright and warm, waiting.
It was November. In England the weather was grey, cold and heavy. Miami felt like walking straight into summer ☀️.
There was no rush to explore everything. The trip was simple: beach during the day, quiet walks in the evening. Most days were spent on the beach — sun, sand, waves and warm air 🌊. Nothing complicated, nothing planned. Just time to relax.
Evenings were slower. Sometimes I walked along Ocean Drive. It is lively, colourful and loud, full of music, restaurants and people enjoying the night.
But most evenings were spent on the beach.
At night the beach becomes a completely different place. The noise from the streets fades away, the air becomes cooler, and the ocean sounds stronger. Sitting there in the dark, listening to the waves, felt peaceful and calm 🌙.
Sometimes that is exactly what a holiday should be.
Escaping the grey English weather for warm sun and ocean in November felt almost unreal.
Years later, what I remember most is quiet beach at night and the sound of the ocean.
Some places stay with you long after the trip ends. For me, Miami will always be warm nights, soft waves, and a quiet beach under the dark sky.
